Mike Senator, the new head leader of Defenders of Wildlife's legal team is flying to Missoula, Montana for Monday's hearing in federal court on their motion to stop the wolf hunts in Idaho and Montana. I wish him luck! More than 27,000 Defenders supporters (including myself) have sent emails or called the White House, and more than 3,000 people have supported their legal efforts with emergency donations to the Campaign to Save America's Wolves. With the help of caring people like you, Defenders of Wildlife helped lead the fight to restore wolves to the northern Rockies and were able to stop the killing of wolves in Wyoming and restore vital protections for wolves in that state!
LA CAFEA-CUM ALTFEL?
Labels: ROMANIAN INTERESTS | at Friday, August 28, 2009
Anyway..here's the video

CHRIS KRAMER and the FAMILY THEATER PRODUCTIONS
Labels: THE COLLECTOR | at Saturday, August 22, 2009
Chris Kramer seems a restless spirit. Though he can talk openly and widely about the faith, he prefers to put that faith into action. Chris's most recent work with Family Theater Production was as a feature celebrity and assistant director for a DVD called "Rosary Stars:Praying the Gospel" which features 21 young-adult Catholic celebrities offering personal reflections on the Rosary and its role in their lives. Although Chris Kramer is concentrating on his acting career, his ambitions are multi-layered. He and several friends have recently started a production company in the hopes of developing material. He's exploring writing and directing as well. Chris is content with where his career is right now and where it's headed. "Because we are made in the image and likeness of God, we're supposed to strive after perfection. So in everything we do, whether work or play, we are supposed to do with the attitude of trying to do it perfectly" he says. Father Wilfred Raymond, executive director of Family Theater Production admires the depth of Chris's faith and knows full well the temptations that surround him in the industry. "Mainstream Hollywood has, in my opinion, a lot of good people working in it. But, many of them have to hide the fact that they're Christians or practising Catholics. There are a lot of very good people trying to work in this industry and trying to make a difference. Chris is like 90 percent of young people. At some point they have to go through a period when they put aside the faith that their parents gave them . Chris is a good model-someone who went through a very difficult struggle to get to where he is." Father Willy has high hopes for Chris, both as an actor and as a person of faith. "My hope for Chris, on the personal level, is that he continues to grow in his faith. Professionally, I think Chris will do very well. He's highly disciplined as an actor, which is very deceiving because he seems very casual and laid-back." "My dad used to pray the Rosary over my bed when I was 3 years old", Chris says. "It was one of the means that brought me back into faith. To this day I still pray a daily Rosary. Prayer is basically a conversation. It's just like any relationship that we have on earth. With God or with Mary or any of the saints-you need to spend the time with them." (americancatholic.org)
The MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA

Memoirs of a Geisha - Trailer - Click here for more amazing videosMemoirs of a Geisha is a novel by Arthur Golden, published in 1997. The novel, told in first-person view, tells the fictional story of a geisha working in Kyoto, Japan, before and after World War ll. The novel is told from the point of view of Sayuri Nitta, a retired geisha in her 70s, living in the Waldorf Towers in New York. She is interviewed by Jacob Haarhuis, a professor at New York University, who is credited as the story's translator, although he is fictional character himself. The story is told in a flashback format, with continuous references to the time between Sayuri's career and the time she is being interviewed. The word "geisha" summons images of beautiful women dressed in exquisite kimono, serving sake to businessman in paper-paneled rooms. These charming figures embodying the Japanese ideal of beauty, politeness and perfection have long captivated people, only to be wrongly labeled as high-class prostitutes. The casting of the film caused much controversy due to the fact that the three main roles were given to Chinese actresses. Many Chinese were outraged as the Chinese characters often use for the word "geisha" can easily be misspelled to mean "prostitute". At a time when relations between Japan and China are at an all-time low, the idea of Chinese women portraying what many Chinese mistakenly believed to be Japanese prostitutes is the ultimate insult! Much of the movie was shot on location in Japan, utilizing locations rarely seen in films. However, the back streets of Kyoto were too modern to be used, so sections of the city were re-created on three sound stages in Los Angeles.
PERFUME
Labels: MOVIES | at Friday, August 21, 2009
How could the story of an eccentric 18th-century murderer fascinate so many readers? It's all about the desire for recognition, to be loved, to be seen, to be somebody and the idea that there's a genius hiding in everyone, and if it were unleashed, the world would be stunned! It's a myth we all carry within ourselves. Based on the best-selling novel by Patrick Suskind, "Perfume-The Story of a Murderer" is a story of a deadly obsession set in 18th-century France. Jean Baptiste Grenouille, orphaned as a newborn in the streets of Paris, is alone in the world. A peculiar child who rarely speaks, Grenouille is alienated from others but blessed with a remarkable gift. His sense of smell is so refined, so attuned to every blade of grass and blossoming flower, that it's tragic when he's sold into servitude to a tannery at the age of 13. But there comes a day when Jean-Baptiste discovers the object that will transform his life: perfume. Eager to learn the art of creating sophisticated fragrance, he proves to be a savant whose almost mystical knowledge of scent surpasses anything that can be taught to him by masters of the craft. When he discovers the most intoxicating scent he has ever experienced-the natural fragrance of a beautiful young girl-he learns that the only method to preserve her innocence and fresh beauty will require murder. The novel has sold over 15 million copies worldwide, has been translated into 45 languages(even Latin) and continues to appear on "must read" lists in publications such as Oprah and In Style.
